The Case of the Lavender Dragon
Listen to audiobook
The Curious Wave
Under a sun-kissed sky in Paris, Harry Potter, with his short dark hair fluttering slightly in the breeze, strolled cheerfully along the Seine. Beside him, Hermione and Ron chatted about croissants and magical pastries.
Suddenly, Hermione paused. "Look!" she gasped, bending to pick up an odd little plush toy from the ground.
"A dragon?" Ron questioned, raising an eyebrow.
Harry peered at it through his round glasses. The toy was a sleek lavender, with its scales shimmering in the morning light.
"Weird," Harry mumbled, feeling a slight tingle in his fingers as he touched it. "Hermione, think it's ... magical?"
Hermione nodded, "We should take it to Professor McGonagall. She’ll know."
With the river's gentle waves lapping in the background, they hurried towards the local wizarding institute, clutching the curious find.
Whispers in the Shadows
The bustling streets of Paris buzzed around Harry, Hermione, and Ron, as they quickened their pace towards the wizarding institute. Even with the commotion, Harry felt something odd behind him—a sense akin to a quiet shadow tracking their steps.
"Do you feel that?" Harry asked, glancing at Hermione.
She nodded, clutching the lavender dragon tighter. "Ever since we found this... someone seems to be watching us."
Just then, a street performer, surely a man with a long, embroidered coat and twinkling blue eyes, juggled silver balls, nodding slightly as they passed. The way his eyes flickered to the dragon made Harry shiver.
As they moved farther down the avenue, Harry whispered, "Ron, see that guy with the juggling balls? He's acting strange."
"You think he's following us?" Ron questioned, frowning slightly, tilting his head like a curious puppy.
"I'm not sure," responded Harry, his voice low. "But he seems interested in the toy."
The trio turned a corner, but curiosity got the better of them, and Harry risked a glance back. The performer was gone.
"Vanished! Just like that," Ron exclaimed, eyes wide.
The mystery deepened, enticing them closer to Professor McGonagall and, hopefully, answers to the secrets held within the plush dragon.
