The Giggling Ghost Problem
Listen to audiobook
Midnight Echoes
Sheep Fairy fluttered her glowing blue dragonfly wings as she glided through the moonlit corridors of her castle. The teal star on her wand sparkled softly in the darkness.
"Another perfect night," she whispered to herself, adjusting her blue skirt.
But then she heard it. A soft giggle echoing from somewhere deep within the castle walls. She paused mid-flight, tilting her woolly head to listen.
"That's odd," she murmured. "Everyone should be asleep."
Down in the kitchen, Woolinda the maid sheep was washing the last of the dinner dishes. She had curly brown wool and wore a crisp white apron over her pink uniform. Her amber eyes darted nervously toward the ceiling as another giggle drifted down from above.
"Did you hear that too?" Woolinda called out, her hooves clattering against the stone floor.
Sheep Fairy descended gracefully. "I did. Where do you think it's coming from?"
Glowing Screens and Falling Things
Woolinda the maid sheep dropped her dish towel and pointed upward with her hoof.
"It's coming from the computer room!" she bleated. "I heard giggling coming through the vents earlier too."
Sheep Fairy's blue eyes sparkled with interest. The computer room was where she kept her modern technology alongside her magical items. She fluttered her dragonfly wings and started floating toward the staircase.
"Wait!" Woolinda called out, her amber eyes wide with worry. "What if it's something dangerous?"
But as they reached the second floor, the giggling suddenly turned into loud crashes and electronic beeping sounds. Blue light flickered frantically under the computer room door.
"Oh no," Sheep Fairy gasped, gripping her teal-starred wand tightly. "Someone's in there messing with my equipment!"
The crashes grew louder, followed by the unmistakable sound of keyboards clicking rapidly and screens buzzing. Whatever was inside wasn't just giggling anymore—it was destroying everything.
