The Great Hair Rebellion
Listen to audiobook
Pink Scissors and Purple Eyes
Yuki adjusted her scissor-shaped hairpins as she swept the last strands of hair from the salon floor. Her pink heels clicked against the wooden boards while she hummed a cheerful tune. The morning sun streamed through the windows of her magical hair salon in Nakaibito village, making her elaborate pink curls shimmer.
"Another beautiful day for making people look their best!" she declared, spinning around in her pink dress. Her scissors earrings jingled softly.
Maki and Yuko, her fellow magical hairdresser friends, were already preparing their stations. Maki arranged her combs while Yuko sharpened her favorite pair of scissors.
"I heard something interesting this morning," Maki said, glancing toward the village square. "There are some boys causing quite a stir."
"What kind of stir?" Yuki asked, her purple eyes sparkling with curiosity.
"The messy, shaggy-haired kind," Yuko replied with a giggle. "Their parents are absolutely furious."
Yuki peered out the window and gasped. Five boys with wild, tangled hair were running through the square, looking absolutely terrified.
The Chase Through the Square
The three magical girls rushed outside as shouts echoed from the village square. Parents were chasing after the five boys, waving brushes and combs in the air.
"Ren! Riku! Get back here!" yelled one mother.
"Your hair is a disgrace!" shouted another father.
The boys dodged between market stalls and jumped over flower boxes. Their long, tangled hair flew behind them like messy banners. Haruto tripped over a cricket cage that a baker had left outside his shop, sending tiny insects hopping everywhere.
"We won't get our hair cut!" screamed Kenji, his greasy locks covering half his face.
"Never again!" added Hiroto, clutching his shaggy hair protectively.
Yuki watched the chaos with growing concern. These weren't just stubborn boys - they were genuinely terrified. Their eyes were wide with panic, and they kept looking around as if expecting something awful to happen.
"Something's really wrong here," Maki whispered. "Look how scared they are."
"Their hair is so matted it must hurt," Yuko added, wincing.
Suddenly, three bigger boys appeared at the edge of the square, carrying enormous golden scissors that gleamed in the sunlight. The leader, a tall boy with a cruel smile, stepped forward.
"Well, well. Look what we found."
