The Colorful Discovery
Molly pressed her nose against the glass window of the Chip Store. The swirling chip mural on the walls seemed to dance before her bright blue eyes. She had never seen anything so magical.
"Welcome!" called the cheerful shop owner from behind the counter. "First time here?"
Molly nodded, her red hair bouncing. The scent of barbecue and cheese made her stomach rumble loudly.
"I'll take one bag of everything," she said, pulling out her wallet.
The owner's eyes widened. "Everything? That's quite a lot, miss."
"I have birthday money," Molly explained, her cheeks turning pink with excitement.
Twenty minutes later, she sat surrounded by towers of colorful chip bags. The store was hers for the afternoon. She opened the first bag of sea salt chips.
"This is heaven," she whispered, crunching happily.
One bag became two. Two became ten. The afternoon sun streamed through the windows as Molly discovered flavor after flavor.
The Morning Surprise
Hours passed like minutes. Molly's fingers were sticky with chip dust as she reached for another bag. The afternoon light grew dim through the store windows.
"Just one more flavor," she whispered, opening a bag of spicy barbecue chips.
Her pink dress felt snug around her middle, but the chips tasted too good to stop. She tried the cheese puffs next, then the sour cream and onion. Each bag seemed better than the last.
The store owner had left for the day, leaving a note that said "Lock up when you're done!" Molly barely noticed. She was too busy discovering pickle-flavored chips.
Her eyelids grew heavy as the sun disappeared completely. The comfortable chair by the window called to her. She curled up with one last bag of sweet potato chips, munching slowly.
"Maybe just a little nap," she yawned.
The empty chip bags rustled around her like colorful pillows. Molly's eyes closed as she drifted off to sleep, still holding a half-eaten chip.
When morning sunlight streamed through the windows, something felt very wrong. Her dress was impossibly tight. Looking down, Molly gasped.
She was round as a balloon.
