Ella, a 7-year-old girl with bright blue eyes and a dress dotted with paint splashes, clutched her sketchbook as she wondered what to draw today. Her long, wavy blonde hair shimmered under the sun.

"I've seen strange people in the night," Felix ribbited quietly. "They camp in a hidden spot beyond the trees."
