Where the Paint Never Sleeps
Canvas City never stopped moving.
Holographic murals scrolled across skyscrapers. Hover-bikes wove between citizens — humans in bright jackets, humanoid deer in flowing scarves, their antlers sometimes decorated with tiny blinking lights. The whole city smelled faintly of fresh paint and charged air.
Right in the middle of it all stood Solitude Art Studio — a tall, glass-walled building that glowed soft blue at night and blazing white during the day. Everyone in Canvas City knew it. Everyone knew whose studio it was.
Inside, Super Artist stood before his largest canvas yet — taller than himself, wider than his outstretched arms. His blue-and-black supersuit caught the studio lights. His red cape was draped carefully over a stool so it wouldn't brush the wet paint. His blue goggle lenses reflected swirls of violet, gold, and deep green.
He stepped back and folded his arms.
"Almost," he said quietly to nobody. "Just… almost perfect."
The Accident Nobody Planned
The studio door burst open.
A humanoid deer — tall, velvet-brown, with wide branching antlers and large dark eyes — stumbled inside. She wore a long yellow scarf tangled around her neck and a messenger bag slipping off one shoulder. Her hooves skidded on the polished floor.
"Sorry, sorry — I just need to — oh no."
One antler caught the edge of the tall canvas.
It tipped.
Super Artist spun around just in time to see his painting — violet and gold and deep green, still wet — crash face-first onto the floor with a sound like a slap.
The room went completely silent.
The deer froze. Super Artist stared at the canvas. Paint spread slowly across the white floor in every direction.
A small delivery drone hummed in through the open door behind her, carrying a package, oblivious to everything.
"I am so sorry," the deer whispered. "I didn't — the door was open and I thought this was the delivery drop-off and—"
Super Artist's hands began to glow.
