Invisible Threats
Ms. Lesbian Cat poured maple syrup on her waffles, playfully flicking the bottle cap at her wife, Ms. Lesbian Deer. "Another day, another villain, huh?" she teased, nibbling on her breakfast.
Ms. Lesbian Deer chuckled, adjusting her purple lipstick. "As long as it's not a grumpy old raccoon again!"
Just then, a loud beep echoed from their alert gadget. "What's this?" Ms. Lesbian Cat mused, eyes narrowing.
They both leaned towards the TV, where a news anchor spoke over swirling clouds on the screen. "An unlikely ice storm is forming over Artwood City. Citizens are advised to stay indoors."
Ms. Lesbian Deer frowned, touching her ear communicator. "Feels like foul play," she said, reaching for her purple suit.
Ms. Lesbian Cat nodded, swiftly darting to her gear. "Let's melt that ice, darling!" she shouted with determination as they dashed out into the brisk morning air.
Breezes and Sneezes
The city of Artwood was quieter than ever as Ms. Lesbian Cat and Ms. Lesbian Deer trotted out onto the frosty streets. "Brrr, it's sure chilly!" said Ms. Lesbian Deer, rubbing her arms through her purple suit.
"We'll warm up once we find the source," Ms. Lesbian Cat replied confidently, her orange hair blazing like a beacon against the gray sky.
Everywhere, shops were tightly shut, and the usual chatter of city life was replaced by the eerie whistle of the wind. Yet, amidst this frozen silence, one spot drew their attention—an elderly man at a tiny roadside stall, sheltered under a sturdy awning.
"Check it out," Ms. Lesbian Cat said, nudging her partner. "A gadget vendor in this weather?"
The duo approached, finding the old man fiddling with a strange device. He barely glanced at them. "Snow gadgets. Useful for these storms," he mumbled through his grizzled beard.
Ms. Lesbian Deer leaned in, intrigued. "What's that?"
Before he could answer, a sudden flurry of snowflakes hit them, obscuring the vendor from view.
In a blink, he seemed to vanish, leaving behind a still-humming device. They exchanged alarmed glances, the weight of their task growing heavier.
