The Withered Secret
Pyramid Prep was unlike any school Carlee had ever seen. Its corridors were mysterious and ancient, with walls designed to look like pharaoh's chambers. Papyrus scrolls served as the study material, scattered like pages from a magical book waiting to be read. Carlee loved exploring the hallways, her long golden hair flowing behind her as her mind danced with curiosity.
One afternoon, while wandering the hallways in her sunny yellow dress, she stumbled into a room rarely used. The walls were decorated with ornate frames and ancient maps. A long line of dusty papyrus scrolls sat on shelves. But what caught her attention was not the scrolls – it was the withered flowers lined by the windowsill. Drooping and dry, they seemed sad, a world away from the vibrant life she knew they once held.
Carlee's bright blue eyes widened. She wondered if her kindness could do something to bring them back to life. The thought of reviving their beauty filled her with determination.
A New Blossom Blooms
As Carlee reached out to touch the withered flowers, a soft thud caught her attention. Startled, she turned to find a small creature darting out from between the dusty scrolls. It stopped in front of her, revealing a peculiar sight.
It was a tiny, feathered lizard. Its scales shimmered with iridescent blues and greens, and its eyes were round and mischievous. Carlee marveled at the creature, which seemed to belong in a storybook more than a dusty old classroom. She smiled and softly murmured, "Lumi," naming her new friend.
With Lumi watching curiously, Carlee looked back at the forlorn flowers. A quiet hum seemed to dance above them, tickling her senses with its distinct, high-spirited quality. Her gaze drifted to the back corner of the windowsill, where one flower stood out—less withered, its petals holding a faint trace of color.
A sense of urgency tugged at Carlee, her bright blue eyes wide with wonder. This singular flower seemed to hold a secret, one that could unravel the mystery before her if only she could uncover its story.
