The Whisper of Ice

The air in New York was teeming with its usual buzz, as taxis honked and people swarmed the sidewalks like water flowing through a busy stream. But in the heart of it all, young wizard Harry Potter stood still, gazing up at Central Park.

A curious melody, delicate as a snowflake yet as chilling as a winter wind, floated on the air. It wasn't just Harry who noticed. In one instantaneous moment, the typically boisterous park grew eerily quiet, those around him frozen in their tracks as if enchanted by this ice-bound tune.

"What's that sound?" Harry murmured, his grey eyes squinting through his signature round glasses.

He wrapped his wizard robes tightly around himself, not just for warmth but for comfort, as the cold seemed to seep into his very bones.

"A melody," he thought, "causing this quiet?"

And with that thought drifting into his mind, he realized—it was not just music. It was a mysterious call for help.

Harry felt a sudden gust of wind push against him, as if an invisible hand decided he was in the wrong spot. Before he knew it, he was being twirled deeper into Central Park, his robes flapping like a banner.

"Whoa! Easy there!" he exclaimed, clutching his round glasses as the gust finally decided to let him go. Catching his breath, Harry squinted around the park that now seemed much more like a labyrinth.

"Are you alright?" asked a voice, startling Harry.

Turning quickly, he faced a girl his age with vibrant red hair, green eyes full of curiosity, and a blue cloak wrapped tightly around her.

"I'm Iris," she said. "You got caught in the Melody's wind too, huh?"

Harry nodded, intrigued. "You know what’s causing this?"

"Sort of," Iris replied. "I’ve studied enchanted sounds. They're powerful. We might need to work together."

Harry’s interest piqued. Maybe he wouldn’t face this chilled mystery alone after all. As they moved forward, the haunting melody seemed almost eager to reveal its secrets.
