The Morning Buzz
Super Pencil stretched his yellow arms and adjusted his red cape as morning sunlight streamed through the windows of Pencil Case Tower. The bustling sounds of Doodle Book Metropolis echoed from below—car horns mixed with the cheerful chatter of walking erasers and the clip-clop of marker horses.
"Another beautiful day to help citizens with their creative emergencies," he said, polishing his blue mask.
His phone buzzed with a text from Mayor Crayon: "Emergency at the library! Come quick!"
Super Pencil zipped on his blue boots and gloves. Through his window, he spotted smoke rising from the Central Library. But as he prepared to fly out, a colorful poster fluttered past his window.
"ANNUAL DOODLE DERBY - TODAY!" it announced in bold letters. "Grand prize: Golden Eraser of Excellence!"
Super Pencil caught the poster, his eyes widening. He'd dreamed of entering this race for years. The library emergency could wait just a moment while he read the details.
The Great Escape
Super Pencil's eyes darted between the emergency text and the colorful Derby poster. The Golden Eraser of Excellence gleamed from the paper - the most prestigious prize in all of Doodle Book Metropolis.
"Just a quick peek at the race route," he muttered, unfolding the poster completely.
His phone buzzed again. This time it was a voice message from Mayor Crayon: "Super Pencil! The library's not just smoking - books are coming alive and chasing people down Main Street! A shoemaker with short gray hair is trapped on her roof!"
Through his window, Super Pencil spotted something incredible. Giant storybook pages were fluttering through the air like enormous birds. One massive page swooped past, and he glimpsed colorful racing tracks printed across its surface.
"The Derby route goes right through the escaped storybooks," he gasped.
A woman's voice echoed from below: "Help! These fairy tale characters won't stop chasing customers!"
Super Pencil folded the poster and tucked it into his cape. The race would have to wait - but maybe, just maybe, he could solve the library crisis and still make it to the starting line. He launched himself out the window, his red cape billowing behind him as he flew toward the chaos.
