Morning Patrol
Paint Buck soared through the morning sky above Canvas Woodland City, his colorful supersuit gleaming in the sunlight. The paint splats across his black costume sparkled like tiny rainbows as he performed his daily patrol.
"Another peaceful morning," he said to himself, adjusting his yellow mask. His blue gloves gripped the air as he swooped between the towering art galleries and paint studios that made up the city's skyline.
Below, humanoid deer walked to work alongside humans, their antlers catching the light. Couples strolled hand in hand through the painted crosswalks, and children pointed excitedly at Paint Buck as he flew overhead.
Paint Buck landed gracefully on the roof of Paint Deer Hall, his fortress home in the city center. The building's walls were covered in massive paint splats of every color imaginable - his own artistic touch from years of training.
"Time to check the morning reports," he said, pressing his palm against the colorful entrance panel.
Double Vision
The entrance panel beeped cheerfully, and the massive doors of Paint Deer Hall slid open with a whoosh. Paint Buck stepped inside, his hooves clicking on the polished floor.
"Good morning, Paint Buck!" chirped a voice from above.
Paint Buck looked up to see Ruby, a bright red hummingbird, hovering near the ceiling. Her tiny wings beat so fast they were just a blur.
"Morning, Ruby," Paint Buck said, pulling off his yellow mask. "Any urgent messages?"
"Actually, yes!" Ruby zipped down to eye level, her small black eyes sparkling with excitement. "There's been some strange reports coming in. Citizens keep calling about seeing you in different parts of the city at the same time."
Paint Buck frowned. "That's impossible. I was on patrol all morning."
"That's what I thought too," Ruby said, landing delicately on his blue glove. "But Mrs. Henderson from Maple Street swears she saw you rescuing a cat from a tree while Mr. Garcia from Pine Avenue says you were stopping a runaway grocery cart at exactly the same time."
Paint Buck's antlers twitched with confusion. "Show me the reports."
