The Foggy Encounter

London, vibrant and full of life, never quite looks the same when the fog rolls in. The familiar hum of double-decker buses echoed through the misty streets, creating a melody unique to the heart of the city.

Harry, his short dark hair brushed aside as he adjusted his round glasses, squinted into the haze. Something unusual caught his eye, a soft glow beckoning from a dim alley. Curiosity piqued, Ron and Hermione flanking him, the trio edged forward.

There it lay—an ornate dragon’s egg, shimmering with emerald hues. With its strange allure, not just a wondrous sight, but a mystery waiting to unfold.

Harry carefully touched the dragon's egg, unsure of what to expect. At once, his mind was flooded with vivid images, like flashes of a dream half remembered. In those brief moments, he saw himself standing on the Hogwarts grounds under a darkening sky, a storm brewing with malicious intent.

“Did you see that?” Hermione's voice cut through as she, too, gently placed her fingers on the egg. Her eyes widened in understanding, yet filled with unspoken questions. Ron hesitated but eventually followed suit, eliciting his own set of bewildering visions.

“What does it mean?” Ron asked, looking to his friends for answers as the fog thickened, wrapping them in the present.

Before anyone could speak, the thudding of hurried footsteps drew near. It was Professor McGonagall, her expression a blend of steely determination and curiosity. “What have you found here, Harry?” she inquired, not yet noticing the egg cradled between them.
