Pink Scissors and Purple Dreams
Yuki adjusted her scissor-shaped hairpins and checked her reflection in the salon window. Her pink curls bounced perfectly, and her purple eyes sparkled with excitement. Today marked her first day as Nakaibito village's newest magical hairdresser.
"Welcome to Magical Cuts!" she announced to herself, practicing her greeting. Her pink dress swished as she spun around, and her scissors earrings jingled softly.
The bell above the door chimed, and three other magical girls burst in. Maki wore yellow ribbons in her black hair, while Yuko sported blue streaks through her brown bob.
"Ready for our biggest challenge yet?" Maki asked, holding up a clipboard.
Yuki tilted her head. "What challenge?"
"Five boys," Yuko explained grimly. "They haven't had proper haircuts in months. Their parents are furious."
"How hard can it be?" Yuki laughed, twirling her scissors necklace. "Hair is hair, right?"
Through the window, she spotted five figures with tangled, greasy locks hanging past their shoulders. They were arguing loudly with several frustrated adults.
The Unwilling Visitors
The door burst open with such force that Yuki's scissors necklace rattled. Five boys tumbled inside, dragged by their frustrated parents.
"No! We won't do it!" screamed the tallest boy, his greasy black hair covering half his face.
"Ren, you're getting a haircut today!" his mother declared, gripping his arm firmly.
The other boys huddled together like frightened animals. Their hair hung in tangled mats past their shoulders, and Yuki noticed people on the street pointing and whispering.
"They look like girls," someone muttered outside.
"This is ridiculous, Riku!" another parent snapped. "Your teacher can't even see your face!"
Maki stepped forward with her clipboard. "We understand your concerns—"
"Understanding won't fix this mess!" Ren's mother interrupted. "Look at them!"
Yuki watched the boys' eyes dart around the salon, landing on every pair of scissors with pure terror. One boy named Haruto started shaking when he spotted the hair clippers plugged into the wall.
"Please," whispered Kenji, the smallest one. "We promise we'll brush it."
"Brushing won't help," Yuko said firmly, picking up her scissors. "You need proper cuts."
The boys pressed closer together, and Yuki felt something twist in her stomach as she saw real fear in their eyes.
