Morning Preparation

Marker Mother Goat stretched her arms above her head as morning sunlight streamed through the tall windows of Marker Fortress. Her blue-and-black dress rustled softly as she walked across the polished wooden floor to her walk-in closet.

"Another beautiful day in Craft Room City," she said to herself, adjusting her red cape.

She picked up her giant magic marker from its special stand. The marker glowed with a warm golden light, just like every morning for the past five years. Marker Mother Goat smiled at her reflection in the closet mirror.

"Time to help everyone create something wonderful today," she announced.

But when she lifted the marker to test it on a piece of paper, something strange happened. Instead of drawing a simple flower like she intended, the marker drew the flower upside down. The stem pointed toward the sky, and the petals grew into the ground.

"That's odd," she murmured, staring at the backwards drawing.

The Spinning Signs

Marker Mother Goat decided to test her marker again. She drew a circle on another piece of paper, but instead of a normal round shape, the marker created a square.

"This is definitely not right," she said, frowning at the backwards drawing.

She flew out of her fortress window and soared over Craft Room City. Below her, she spotted Mrs. Elena Rodriguez, a smart woman with short black hair, standing outside her shoe repair shop. Elena was holding up a sign that read "CLOSED" but the letters appeared upside down.

"Elena!" Marker Mother Goat called as she landed. "Is everything okay?"

Elena turned around, her brown eyes wide with confusion. "My sign-making machine started printing everything backwards this morning. Look at this!" She held up a business card where "SHOE REPAIR" was written in reverse.

Marker Mother Goat pulled out her magic marker to help fix the sign, but when she drew over the letters, they became even more jumbled. Instead of fixing them, her marker made the words spin sideways.

"Oh no," Marker Mother Goat whispered. "My marker is making everything worse, not better!"
