The Missing Melody of Fairyland
Listen to audiobook
Lost in a Whispering Land
Sierra flitted gracefully through the kaleidoscope of colors that was Fairyland. Her wings, shimmering in the warm sun, reflected hues from the rainbows arching blissfully overhead. It was a sunny afternoon, and Sierra was supposed to meet her friend, Rylee the mermaid, for swimming lessons by the sparkling brook.
But today, Sierra, the petite fairy princess known for her ivory complexion, found herself drifting away, enchanted by everything around her. As she danced amongst fluttering fairies and frolicking animals, a sudden realization dawned — she was lost!
Whispers of Forgotten Strings
As Sierra fluttered about, her eyes danced over twinkling streams and whispering grasses, but soon the sun dipped a little lower, making golden shadows stretch across the ground.
Her wandering led her to a peculiar spot, a clearing filled with the scent of orange blossoms, where a harp—old and neglected—peered through tufts of emerald grass.
Examining the harp, the shadows seemed to shimmer, and out slinked Solon, a sneaky salamander, shimmering midnight blue under the warm sun. Solon was known in Fairyland for selling secrets in exchange for his own gain.
“But if you play it,” Solon croaked, eyeing the harp, “it might grant you a path home.”
A troublesome thought danced in Sierra’s mind, yet curiosity wavered no longer. With a gentle touch, she plucked a string.
The air bloomed with a note so magnificent, even the sunlight paused to listen, and in that instance, Sierra's shyness transformed into a new understanding of magic her fingertips could conjure.
