A Glimpse through the Fog

The library stood like a silent guardian of stories, its wooden beams creaking gently in the cool, cozy air. Sunlight filtered in through tall, stained glass windows, casting colorful patches on the tiles. Mille, a small and curious male Nimbus Dragon, fluttered in silently, his eyes wide with wonder.

He saw Finn, a boy about his age, maybe eleven, huddled in a corner, deeply engrossed in a book. Mille’s fluffy white scales glimmered in the soft light as he approached cautiously, eyes sparkling like the sky on a clear day.

"What are you reading?" Mille whispered, his voice as light as a breeze.

Finn looked up, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "It's a book about our town’s history, and it’s amazing! Come, see for yourself!"

Mille leaned in closer, the scent of old books mixed with a hint of rain. He peered over Finn's shoulder and his eyes widened. The pages of the book spoke of their quaint town’s origins, tales of explorers and hidden treasures. But what caught Mille's attention was an opal resting on the book, attached to an old map. As Finn held it, the opal shimmered and shifted colors, mirroring the warmth of his hand.

"Look at that!" Mille exclaimed, causing a tiny cloud to form and hover around his head in excitement. "Where did you find it?"

"It’s been here all along," Finn replied thoughtfully. "I never noticed this opal before, but it seems special. Maybe it's more than just a pretty stone."

Mille’s curiosity grew. "What if it’s a clue? A way to discover something incredible!"

Finn’s eyes sparkled. "Let’s find out! We should start by asking Mr. Thornberry; he's the historian who knows everything about this town."

With newfound excitement, both Mille and Finn made plans to visit Mr. Thornberry, hoping to uncover the opal’s secret.
