The Rainbow Riddle of Planet X
Listen to audiobook
The Gummy Bear's Whisper
In the heart of Math Base, where calculations danced upon screens like orchestrated stars, Blasternaut rolled his chair lazily. "Spot, is it just me, or do the stars seem excited today?" His droid buddy, in electronic chuckles, answered, "It's you. But the Math Base isn't quite its usual peaceful self, either. Look!"
Blasternaut glanced up to see an alert flashing across the massive screen. "Never seen a comet like that," he mused, staring at the gummy bear-shaped object cutting through space. "It’s... delightful?"
Spot beeped urgently. "Blasternaut, the energy levels here are soaring! And those—are those... rainbows?"
Their eyes widened; rainbows floated unexpectedly along the skies outside. The once predictable cosmos had spilled its mysteries, inviting them to unravel one floating arch at a time.
Cosmic Confetti
Blasternaut detached from the rolling chair, leaving a lazy spin as evidence of his departure. "Spot," he announced, "I think our friend in the shape of gummy delight is pulling a cosmic prank."
Spot's sensors whirred as he hovered closer to the floating rainbows. "It's altering the energy levels," he reported. "The rainbows, they're... communicating."
"Rainbows speaking math? Now that's an abstract fantasy," Blasternaut mused, eyes twinkling with curiosity.
Spot extended one of his expressive hands towards the nearest rainbow. "Indeed. Look! Signals... functions? I can't fully translate yet."
"Well then, let's get close enough to read them," Blasternaut proposed with a grin, reaching for his helmet.
Together, they drifted into the mesmerizing array, each rainbow more vibrant than its predecessor. A sudden glint caught Blasternaut's eye. "What’s this?" he murmured, spotting a small, metallic device gliding among the arches.
Spot hustled over, sensors flaring. "It seems to be attracting them."
"Intriguing," Blasternaut commented. "Let's take a closer look."
Collecting the signals and the curious device, they headed back towards the spinning chair and, ultimately, to Math Base. Their adventure was only beginning.
