The Secret Job of the Magical Llama
Listen to audiobook
The Forgotten Closet
Jeanie adored the Peacock Theater with its velvet curtains and the old, creaky stage that seemed to hold a thousand whispers of past performances. She often snuck backstage, where the air smelled like old wood and magic.
Today, however, her visit had a purpose. Her mom had firmly asked her to tidy up the musty closet backstage. Jeanie wrinkled her nose but agreed. The closet was rarely opened; it was dusty and packed with costumes and old scripts.
As she pushed the creaking door open, dust sparkled in the beam of light that snuck past her. Her eyes widened with wonder—and a hint of suspicion—as she spotted something glowing mysteriously behind a pile of faded props. What could it be?
The Glittering Discovery
Jeanie's heart raced as she carefully stepped closer to the glow. Her shaky hand moved aside the pile of props, revealing something she'd never imagined—a llama! Its fur shimmered, swirling with all the colors of a rainbow, bright and merry.
"Who...who are you?" Jeanie stammered, eyes wide with wonder.
"I am Lorenzo," the llama said, with a voice both soft and wise. "A magical llama at your service."
Jeanie gasped softly. "A magical llama?"
Lorenzo nodded, his sparkling eyes full of understanding. "Indeed. But I'm in a bit of a pickle. I've lost a part of my magical rainbow hair, and without it, my magic isn't whole."
Jeanie, her curiosity piqued more than ever, realized this was her new quest—she had to help Lorenzo find his missing rainbow hair before the theater lights blazed to life.
