A Sleepless Night
Anne tossed and turned, the moonlight casting a soft glow across her room. Her bright blue eyes glanced nervously at the shadows. She had just woken up from another scary dream—this time about a man trying to hurt her. She clutched her magical wand tightly, feeling a little safer with it in her hand.
"Dad, I can't sleep," Anne whispered as she tiptoed to her father's room.
Her father, a kind-looking man with tired eyes, sat up and gave her a gentle smile. "Another bad dream, sweetheart?"
Anne nodded, her curly brown hair bouncing. "Yes. It was that man again, trying to get me."
Her father sighed and hugged her. "Maybe it's time we talk to Professor Clement. He might help us understand your dreams."
Anne nodded again, feeling comforted but still curious. "Okay, Dad. Let's find out."
The Call of the Shadows
Anne’s father gently lifted her onto his lap. “Pack your wand, Anne. We’ll visit Professor Clement tomorrow,” he said softly.
Anne felt a mix of excitement and unease. “Will he be able to help, Dad?”
“I believe so, sweetheart. He’s a bit strange, but very wise,” her father replied, ruffling her curly hair.
The next morning, Anne packed her small backpack with her favorite items—a book, a snack, and of course, her magical wand. As they stepped out of the house, Anne’s father squeezed her hand reassuringly.
“Professor Clement lives just around the corner,” he said with a twinkle in his eyes. “He’s been waiting for us.”
Anne felt a shiver of anticipation. Was the solution to her dreams closer than she thought?
