The Bright Workshop

Anisa bounced on her toes as she knocked on the workshop door. The Modern Kingdom looked beautiful today, with its gleaming towers and floating walkways catching the morning sunlight.

"Coming!" called a voice from inside.

The door swung open to reveal a girl with messy red hair and goggles pushed up on her forehead. Oil stains decorated her green apron, and her brown eyes sparkled with excitement.

"You must be Anisa! I'm Darla," she said, wiping her hands on a rag. "I can't wait to show you my latest invention."

Anisa stepped into the cluttered workshop. Strange gadgets covered every surface, and half-finished projects dangled from the ceiling.

"This is the Instant Light," Darla announced, pointing to a silver box with blinking buttons. "It creates perfect light bulbs in seconds. They never burn out, never break, never need replacing."

"That's amazing," Anisa said, examining the device.

"Want to see it work?" Darla's finger hovered over the largest button.

Something about her eager expression made Anisa pause. "Maybe we should—"

But Darla had already pressed it.

The Brightest Day

The silver box hummed louder and louder. Light bulbs began popping out of it like popcorn from a machine.

"Oh no," Darla whispered, her eyes growing wide behind her goggles.

The bulbs bounced across the floor, rolled under tables, and piled up in corners. More kept coming—dozens, then hundreds.

"Can you turn it off?" Anisa asked, stepping back as bulbs rolled toward her feet.

"I'm trying!" Darla pressed every button frantically. The humming grew even louder.

Suddenly, all the light bulbs began glowing at once. The workshop blazed with brilliant white light that made both girls shield their eyes.

"The machine's stuck!" Darla shouted over the noise.

Through the workshop windows, Anisa could see light bulbs shooting out across the Modern Kingdom like tiny shooting stars. They landed on rooftops, in gardens, and along the floating walkways. Every single one blazed with perfect, unending light.

Within minutes, the entire kingdom glowed brighter than the sun. Citizens stumbled out of their houses, squinting and confused.

"We've turned day into super-day," Anisa said, watching people cover their faces with their hands.

The Instant Light machine showed no signs of stopping.
