Morning Patrol

Super Crayon Ewe adjusted her blue mask and stepped onto the observation deck of her studio. The morning sun cast bright rays across Meadow City's colorful buildings. She could see humanoid deer walking to work, their antlers glinting in the light. A family of goat kids played hopscotch near the fountain.

"Another peaceful day," she said, watching a couple holding hands as they crossed the street below.

Her giant glowing blue crayon materialized in her hand, humming softly. She used it to sketch a quick heart in the air, which sparkled before fading away. This was her favorite part of morning patrol—checking that everything looked right in her city.

But as she scanned the eastern district, something caught her attention. One of the flower beds looked... different. The roses that should have been bright red appeared duller than usual.

"Probably just the early morning shadows," she murmured, but made a mental note to check on them later.

The Fading Garden

Super Crayon Ewe decided to investigate the dull roses immediately. She teleported down to the eastern district flower bed and knelt beside the red blooms. Up close, the problem was worse than she thought. The roses weren't just dull—they were losing their color entirely, fading to pale pink.

"What's happening here?" she whispered, touching a petal gently.

A cricket chirped nearby. She turned to see a small green cricket sitting on a park bench, but as she watched, his bright emerald color began to drain away too.

"Hey there, little guy," she said softly.

The cricket hopped toward her. "Something's wrong with the colors! I've been watching all morning. First the roses, then the grass, now me!"

Super Crayon Ewe felt a chill run through her wool. This wasn't just morning shadows. She summoned her giant glowing blue crayon and held it high, scanning the area with her power sensing abilities.

"The color energy is being drained," she realized. "Someone or something is stealing all the colors from Meadow City!"

The cricket's green was now completely gone, leaving him gray and worried.
