Morning at the Rainbow Castle

Princess Aurora stretched her arms above her rainbow-colored hair, watching the morning sunlight dance across the crayon towers of her castle. The purple walls sparkled with embedded colored wax that shifted from magenta to violet as she walked past.

"Good morning, Castle!" she called out, her voice echoing through the corridors lined with giant crayon sculptures.

The blue dress swished around her legs as she skipped toward the grand balcony. Her purple cape fluttered behind her, and she adjusted her matching mask with one finger.

From her balcony, she could see all of Library Land spread before her like pages in a massive book. The Sci-Fi Kingdom gleamed silver in the distance, while Fantasy Kingdom's towers twisted like fairy tale illustrations.

Aurora pulled a bright yellow crayon from her belt and sketched a butterfly in the air. The drawing came alive, flapping paper wings before dissolving into golden sparkles.

"Perfect day for an adventure," she whispered, not knowing how soon that adventure would find her.

The Gray Announcement

A sharp alarm pierced the morning air. Aurora's butterfly drawing vanished as red lights flashed across her castle walls.

"Emergency! Emergency!" The voice echoed from speakers hidden in the crayon towers. "All colors are disappearing from Library Land!"

Aurora rushed to her crystal viewing screen. The display showed grainy footage from across the kingdoms. In Fantasy Kingdom, a dragon's emerald scales turned dull gray. The Sci-Fi Kingdom's silver buildings faded to lifeless black.

"This can't be real," she whispered.

A figure appeared on screen - a tall woman in a dark suit standing behind a corporate desk. Her hair was pulled back severely, and her cold eyes stared directly at the camera.

"Citizens of Library Land," the woman announced, "I am Director Shade from Monochrome Industries. Your precious colors have been collected for corporate efficiency. No more distracting rainbows or silly brightness."

Aurora's hands clenched into fists. Her rainbow hair seemed to dim slightly as anger filled her chest.

"Colors will be returned only when this land accepts our gray productivity standards," Director Shade continued with a smug smile.
