Riley smoothed her designer dress as she walked through Maple City's town square. The golden autumn leaves danced around her, matching her excitement perfectly.

"Riley!" Jake's voice made her heart skip. He jogged toward her, his brown hair catching the afternoon light.

"I can't believe you actually asked me out," she said, tucking a strand of dark hair behind her ear.

Jake grinned. "I can't believe you said yes so fast."

They strolled past the maple trees toward the cinema, their conversation flowing easily. Riley felt like she was living in one of those perfect movie scenes she loved so much.

"What movie are we seeing?" she asked.

"Something romantic," Jake said, holding the theater door open for her. "I thought you'd like that."

Riley beamed. This was exactly how she'd imagined her first real date would go. The sweet scent of pancakes from nearby cafes mixed with the crisp fall air, making everything feel magical.

The Perfect Movie Night

The cinema lobby sparkled with golden lights as Riley and Jake bought their tickets. She picked butter-flavored popcorn while he chose chocolate candy.

"This is so much better than staying home," Riley said, settling into the plush red theater seat.

Jake grinned. "Wait until you see this movie. It's supposed to make you cry happy tears."

The romantic comedy filled the screen with swooning couples and perfect kisses. Riley felt Jake's hand brush hers over the armrest. Her heart fluttered as their fingers intertwined.

After the credits rolled, they stepped into the elevator to leave the building. The doors slid shut, and Jake leaned closer.

"I had the best time," he whispered.

Riley's cheeks warmed. "Me too."

Their first kiss was soft and sweet, just like in the movies. But when the elevator dinged and the doors opened, a girl with short brown hair stood directly in front of them.

The girl's eyes widened in shock. Tears spilled down her cheeks as she spun around and ran toward the exit, her sneakers squeaking against the marble floor.

"Wait!" Jake called after her, but she disappeared through the glass doors.
