Morning Coffee Blues

Super Mother Goat poured herself a steaming cup of coffee in the gleaming kitchen of Solitude Penthouse. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows, Fairy Tale Metropolis sprawled beneath them, its towers catching the morning sunlight.

"Mom, can I have pancakes?" asked Billy, her youngest kid, tugging on her red cape.

"Of course, sweetheart," she replied, adjusting her yellow mask as she reached for the mixing bowl.

The other six kids thundered into the kitchen like a small stampede. Sally could already float three inches off the ground. Tommy's super strength meant he accidentally crushed the juice carton again.

"Easy there, champion," Super Mother Goat chuckled, mopping up orange juice with her invulnerable hands.

As she flipped pancakes with practiced ease, something metallic glinted on the counter near the coffee maker. A small, silver device she'd never seen before sat there, humming softly with tiny blue lights blinking across its surface.

"Kids, did one of you bring this home?"

The Blue Button

Seven heads shook back and forth. None of the kids claimed the mysterious device.

"Maybe it belonged to the previous tenant," suggested Emma, the oldest at twelve. Her telekinetic powers made the salt shaker wobble nervously on the counter.

Super Mother Goat picked up the silver gadget. It felt warm and pulsed with energy beneath her invulnerable fingers. A small screen flickered to life, displaying symbols she couldn't read.

"Cool! Press something!" Tommy bounced excitedly.

"Tommy, we don't know what this—"

But her youngest, Billy, had already reached up and tapped a glowing blue button.

The device hummed louder. A bright beam shot out the window, sweeping across the city below like a searchlight. Through the glass, Super Mother goat watched as the beam struck Mrs. Chen, their elderly human neighbor who was watering flowers on her balcony across the street.

Mrs. Chen suddenly sprouted long golden hair that cascaded down to the ground. Her simple gardening clothes transformed into a flowing purple gown.

"Oh my," Super Mother Goat whispered. Mrs. Chen had become Rapunzel.

The beam continued its sweep, hitting a jogger in the park below. The man's running shorts became a wolf costume.
