Morning Sparkles

Lightning crackled between her paws as Aurora stretched her arms high above her head. The morning sun streamed through the crystal windows of Polar Bear Palace, casting rainbow patterns across the marble floor.

"Good morning, beautiful ladies!" Aurora called out, her purple cape swirling as she spun around.

Eight caribou girlfriends emerged from their bedrooms, each wrapped in colorful towels like capes. Snowdrop yawned and adjusted her blue towel. "You're awfully energetic this morning, Aurora."

"It's going to be a perfect day in Super Tundra City!" Aurora grinned, her orange mask catching the light. "I can feel it in my fur."

Through the palace windows, she watched humans and other humanoid creatures beginning their daily routines on the busy streets below. The city hummed with activity.

Suddenly, her super hearing picked up something unusual—soft sniffling sounds coming from the palace gardens. Someone was crying outside.

"Did you hear that?" Aurora asked, tilting her head toward the window.

Aurora rushed to the large window, her orange mask glinting in the morning light. Below in the palace gardens, a small humanoid caribou sat hunched over by the fountain. Her shoulders shook with quiet sobs.

"Someone's really upset down there," Aurora said, her cape billowing as she turned to face her girlfriends.

Snowdrop, the brown-furred caribou, adjusted her blue towel cape. "Should we go see what's wrong?"

Before Aurora could answer, her super hearing caught something else—the distant rumble of heavy machinery. She pressed her face against the window and spotted three large trucks parked near the city's art district. Workers in gray uniforms were loading colorful boxes into the vehicles.

"That's weird," Aurora muttered. "Why would anyone be moving art supplies so early in the morning?"

The crying grew louder from the gardens. Aurora watched as the small caribou pulled out a piece of paper and began frantically sketching something. Even from this distance, Aurora could see the drawings were beautiful.

"I think those two things might be connected," Aurora said, her paws beginning to glow with icy-blue sparks. "Someone might have lost something very important."
