Morning Mysteries

Ink Doe stretched her arms as sunlight streamed through the tall windows of Ink Fortress. Her light blue supersuit felt snug and ready for action. She yawned and padded across the polished stone floor to her morning routine.

"Time to practice my ink blasts," she said to herself, raising her gloved hands toward the practice targets.

A purple stream shot from her fingertips instead of the usual black ink. It twisted in the air and formed a perfect butterfly that fluttered around her head.

"What?" Ink Doe blinked hard and tried again.

This time, bright yellow ink spiraled out and became a tiny trumpet that played a cheerful tune before vanishing in sparkles.

Her dark eyes widened in confusion. She aimed at the farthest target and concentrated with all her might.

Pink ink burst forth and transformed into a bouncing rubber ball that ricocheted off the walls.

"Something's definitely wrong with my powers."

Parachutes and Problems

Ink Doe stepped outside the fortress walls, hoping fresh air might clear whatever was wrong with her powers. Chapter City bustled below with humans, deer folk, and sheep citizens going about their morning routines.

A cheerful whistle caught her attention. A young human baker with flour-dusted aprons jogged past carrying a steaming tray of fresh muffins.

"Perfect practice target," Ink Doe muttered, aiming carefully at a nearby trash can.

Green ink spiraled from her fingertips and transformed into a dozen tiny parachutes that drifted down toward the street. Citizens stopped and stared as the colorful parachutes landed on cars, benches, and one unfortunate sheep's wool.

"Oh no," Ink Doe gasped.

The baker tripped, sending muffins flying everywhere. A passing jogger slipped on a blueberry muffin and tumbled into a fountain. Car alarms blared as confused drivers tried to remove parachutes from their windshields.

Ink Doe's heart sank as chaos erupted below. Her malfunctioning powers weren't just creating harmless objects anymore—they were causing real problems for innocent people.

"The parade," she whispered, remembering today's big celebration. "What if this happens during the parade?"
