The Morning Patrol

Super Crayon Buck stretched his tall antlers as morning sunlight filtered through the crystal formations of Solitude Crayon Thicket. His red cape fluttered in the gentle breeze as he walked between towering crayon trees, their waxy surfaces gleaming like rainbows.

"Another peaceful day in Cervine Metropolis," he said, adjusting his blue mask. His giant glowing crayon hummed softly at his side, casting blue light on the path ahead.

A small sparrow landed on his antler. "Morning, Buck! The city's buzzing about something happening at the Wondercolor Factory. Mayor Antelope called an emergency meeting."

Buck's ears perked up. The Wondercolor Factory was the heart of creativity in their city. Every crayon, marker, and paint brush came from there.

"What kind of emergency?" Buck asked, but the sparrow had already flown away.

Strange purple smoke was rising from the factory district. Buck's super hearing caught distant sounds of metal grinding and gears clanking oddly. Something was definitely wrong.

He spread his cape and prepared to fly toward the city center.

Purple Goo and Ticking Clocks

Buck soared over the city rooftops, his red cape streaming behind him. Below, deer families and humans hurried along sidewalks, pointing at the purple smoke billowing from the factory district.

He landed outside the Wondercolor Factory gates where Mayor Antelope stood with a small crowd. The mayor's antlers drooped with worry as she clutched a tablet showing factory readings.

"Buck! Thank goodness you're here," she said. Her voice cracked. "The main production machine exploded this morning. Purple goo is everywhere inside."

A young human woman with short brown hair stepped forward. She wore work coveralls splattered with rainbow paint. "I'm Luna, the factory's lead engineer. The goo is hardening fast. If we don't clean it out by sunset, it'll cement the gears permanently."

"How long do we have?" Buck asked.

"Four hours," Luna said, checking her phone. "But here's the worst part - without this factory, every crayon and art supply in the city will run out by next week. Schools, artists, everyone will lose their creativity tools."

A small hummingbird zipped past Buck's ear. "The purple stuff tastes terrible!" it chirped before darting away.

Buck's giant crayon pulsed with worried blue light.
