Morning Rounds

Ursa Paintbrush stretched her snowy white arms as sunlight filtered into Bear Cave Art Gallery. Her rainbow cape shimmered behind her as she walked between the towering canvases that lined the cavern walls.

"Good morning, everyone!" she called out cheerfully.

A small brown goat with paint-splattered hooves scampered up to her. "Ursa! Look what I made yesterday!"

The little goat pointed to a bright painting of dancing flowers. Yellow petals swirled around purple stems, and orange butterflies seemed to flutter right off the canvas.

"Beautiful work, Penny," Ursa said, kneeling down to examine the painting more closely. The paintbrush emblem on her chest caught the light.

Across the cave, other goat families were already setting up their easels for the day. Mother goats helped their kids organize brushes and mix colors on wooden palettes.

Ursa smiled as she watched the bustling activity. Creative Fairy Tale Land's most talented artists lived right here in this magical cave.

Something felt different today, though she couldn't quite place what it was.

The Gray Mystery

Ursa walked deeper into the cave, her cosmic paintbrush gleaming softly in her hand. She stopped at another easel where a mother goat with six kids had been painting yesterday.

"Good morning, Maple," Ursa said to the tall brown goat.

Maple looked up with worried eyes. "Ursa, something terrible has happened. Look at our painting."

Ursa gasped. The canvas that had shown a beautiful rainbow yesterday was now completely gray. Every color had vanished, leaving only dull shades of black, white, and gray.

"When did this happen?" Ursa asked, examining the painting closely with her X-ray vision.

"We discovered it this morning," Maple said. "All of our family's artwork looks like this now."

Ursa flew quickly around the cave, checking other paintings. Her heart sank. Canvas after canvas showed the same problem. Bright yellows had turned to pale gray. Rich blues became dark charcoal. Even Penny's dancing flower painting was now a sad collection of gray shapes.

"The colors are being stolen," Ursa whispered. She activated her power sensing ability but detected something strange—footprints that sparkled with tiny rainbow flecks leading toward the cave's back entrance.
