The Salon on Sunshine Street

Felix tugged his star hairpin and adjusted his alien T-shirt as he walked down Sunshine Street with his bandmates. The Buzz Kills had just finished practice in Vic's garage, and now they were heading to the music store.

"Look at that pink nightmare," Adam muttered, pointing across the street.

Miss Lolly's Hair Salon sparkled in the afternoon sun. Through the large windows, they could see the tan-skinned owner with bright pink hair styling someone's hair. Pink decorations covered every surface, and Sanrio characters smiled from posters on the walls.

"She's got clippers in there," Nat whispered, pulling his black hair over his face.

Felix shuddered. Those terrible buzzing machines haunted his dreams. He quickened his pace, but couldn't help stealing another glance at the salon's cheerful chaos.

The Pink Emergency

The next morning, Felix's phone buzzed with frantic messages. The Gyaru girls—Yasmin, Jasmine, Anastasia, and Alani—had sent desperate texts to every contact they knew.

"HELP US!" Yasmin's message read. "Miss Lolly is sick and can't open the salon! We have the Spring Dance tomorrow!"

Felix showed the message to Vic, who was tuning his guitar. "Look at this chaos."

"Their problem, not ours," Vic shrugged, adjusting his glasses.

But Felix kept reading. The girls had tried three other salons. All were fully booked. They needed someone who understood hair styling for their elaborate dance looks.

"Wait," Felix said slowly. "Didn't Miss Lolly teach a workshop at the community center last month?"

Adam walked in, strawberry blonde hair messy from sleep. "What's all the noise about?"

"The pink lady's sick," Vic explained.

Felix's phone rang. It was Yasmin, crying.
