Morning Preparations

Lightning Crayon Doe stood at the top of Lightning Crayon Tower, watching Paradise Forest City wake up below. The morning sun painted the buildings in golden hues, and she could see other humanoid deer walking alongside humans on the busy streets.

"Today's the day," she said to herself, adjusting her yellow gloves. The Great Crayon Contest would begin in just a few hours, and artists from all over the city had been preparing for weeks.

She summoned her giant lightning crayon, its electric glow crackling with energy. The weapon felt familiar in her hands, but today it would serve a different purpose - creating art instead of fighting villains.

Her phone buzzed with a text from Mayor Antler: "Good luck today, Lightning! The whole city is excited to see what you create."

Lightning smiled, but her stomach fluttered with nervous energy. She'd never competed in an art contest before. What if her superhero style didn't translate well to peaceful creativity?

Down in the plaza, she could already see contestants setting up their easels and arranging their supplies.

The Copycat Coach

Lightning Crayon Doe flew down from her tower and landed gracefully in Paradise Forest City's main plaza. Artists bustled around her, setting up easels and organizing paintbrushes. The morning air buzzed with excited chatter.

"Excuse me, are you Lightning Crayon Doe?" A young humanoid sparrow with bright brown feathers approached her. She wore a paint-splattered apron and carried a small canvas bag. "I'm Melody Songfeather. I've been practicing for months!"

"Nice to meet you, Melody." Lightning smiled, but something caught her eye across the plaza.

A tall woman with short black hair was demonstrating painting techniques to a crowd. Her name tag read "Vivian Sharp - Art Coach." She held up a canvas that looked exactly like Lightning's signature lightning crayon style.

"See how the electric blue swirls with the yellow?" Vivian explained to her students. "This technique will guarantee you win today."

Lightning's stomach dropped. That was her style - the one she'd developed during countless superhero adventures. How did this woman know it so perfectly?

Melody noticed Lightning's concerned expression. "What's wrong?"

"Someone's teaching my art style," Lightning whispered. "But I've never shown anyone how to do it."
