The Colorless Canvas Crisis

The Morning Call
Ms Paintbrush Axolotl stood at the massive window of her tower, watching Canvas Zoo City wake up below. The morning sun painted golden streaks across the buildings where humans and animal neighbors began their daily routines.
She stretched her arms and felt the familiar weight of her rainbow cape. Today felt different somehow, but she couldn't quite figure out why.
"Good morning, Canvas Zoo City!" she called out cheerfully, her voice echoing through the tower.
Her phone buzzed on the nearby table. She picked it up and saw a text from Mayor Koala: "Emergency meeting at City Hall. Something strange happening with the art supplies downtown."
Ms Paintbrush raised an eyebrow. Art supplies? That was definitely unusual.
She grabbed her blue mask from the dresser and secured it over her eyes. Whatever was going on, the city might need her help.
"Time to see what's happening," she said to herself, walking toward the elevator that would take her down to street level.
The Empty Tubes
Ms Paintbrush Axolotl stepped outside her tower and immediately noticed something wrong. The colorful murals on the buildings across the street looked faded and dull.
"That's strange," she said, walking closer to examine a painting of dancing elephants on the bakery wall. The vibrant blues and reds had turned to pale grays.
She pulled out her phone and called Mayor Koala. "I'm seeing some weird color problems downtown too," she said when he answered.
"It's worse than that," Mayor Koala replied, his voice worried. "Come to Whiskers Music Shop on Melody Street. You need to see this."
Ms Paintbrush flew quickly through the city streets, her rainbow cape streaming behind her. Below, she noticed more buildings losing their color, like someone was slowly draining paint from everything.
She landed in front of Whiskers Music Shop, where Mayor Koala stood with Ms Clara Cricket, the shop owner. Clara was a small green cricket wearing a purple apron, holding an empty paint tube.
"Every single tube of paint in my shop is completely empty," Clara said, shaking the tube. "Even the brand new ones I bought yesterday. It's like the paint just vanished into thin air."
