Morning Observations

Crayon Marker Cat stood on the highest tower of her fortress, watching Cat Alley City wake up below. The morning sun painted the buildings in warm golden light, and she could see cats of all kinds starting their day. Tigers in business suits hurried to work, while house cats opened their shops with cheerful meows.

She stretched her arms wide, feeling the giant crayon and marker at her sides. Today felt different somehow. The air seemed... quieter than usual.

"Good morning, city!" she called out, her voice echoing across the rooftops.

A small tabby cat waved from his bakery window. "Morning, Crayon Marker Cat! Beautiful day, isn't it?"

She nodded and smiled, but something nagged at her. The city looked the same as always, yet something felt missing. The colorful murals on the buildings seemed a bit duller. The bright signs looked faded.

"Probably just need some coffee," she said to herself, jumping gracefully from tower to tower back toward her fortress kitchen.

The Vanishing Colors

Crayon Marker Cat poured herself a steaming mug of coffee and stepped onto her fortress balcony. The morning breeze felt nice, but as she looked down at the city, her green eyes widened in alarm.

The colorful mural on Murphy's Fish Market had completely vanished. Where bright orange fish and blue waves once danced across the brick wall, only blank gray stone remained.

"That's impossible," she whispered, setting down her mug with a clink.

She launched into the air, flying quickly toward downtown. As she soared between buildings, more missing artwork caught her attention. The cheerful rainbow over the library entrance had disappeared. The painted flowers on the school playground were gone.

Landing softly on Main Street, she spotted a small sparrow perched on a lamppost, looking unusually distressed.

"Excuse me," Crayon Marker Cat called to the brown bird. "Did you see what happened to all the paintings?"

The sparrow ruffled her feathers nervously. "They just started fading away this morning! First the big ones, then the little ones. It's like someone erased them with a giant eraser!"

More cats were gathering now, pointing at blank walls and looking confused.
