Morning Patrol

Art Zone stretched his arms wide as morning sunlight streamed through the tall windows of AZ Tower. The city of Sketch Metropolis sparkled below him, its colorful buildings and streets alive with activity.

"Another beautiful day," he said, adjusting his black sunglass goggles. His red cape fluttered as he walked to the window.

Down in the streets, deer citizens walked alongside humans, heading to work and school. Market stalls displayed bright fruits and vegetables. Street art covered building walls in brilliant blues, reds, and yellows.

Art Zone's phone buzzed. A text from his friend Maya appeared: "Meet me at Central Park? I found something weird."

He grabbed his blue gloves and headed for the door. Maya was a talented artist who lived in the arts district. If she found something strange, it was probably worth investigating.

As he stepped outside, Art Zone noticed something odd. The rainbow mural on the building across the street looked different. Duller somehow. He shrugged and flew toward the park.

The Gray Marker Mystery

Art Zone landed softly in Central Park, his blue boots touching the grass near the fountain. Maya sat on a bench, staring at her sketchbook with a puzzled expression.

"You made it!" she called, waving him over. Maya was a deer citizen with soft brown fur and long antlers that curved gracefully above her head. She wore a paint-splattered apron over her green dress.

"What's the weird thing you found?" Art Zone asked, sitting beside her.

Maya held up her sketchbook. "Look at this drawing I made yesterday." The page showed a beautiful sunset scene, but something was wrong. The orange and pink colors looked faded and dull.

"Maybe your markers are running out?" Art Zone suggested.

"That's what I thought too." Maya flipped to a fresh page and drew a quick flower with her red marker. The line came out completely gray.

Art Zone felt his stomach drop. "Try the blue one."

Maya drew another flower. Gray again.

"Every single color is turning gray," Maya said, her voice shaking. "Even the ones I bought yesterday. What if this is happening everywhere?"

Art Zone looked around the park. The grass seemed less green than before. The flower beds looked duller.

"We need to check the art supply stores," he said, standing up quickly.
