The Clipper Catastrophe

Pink Hair and Morning Fears
Felix adjusted his mushroom ring and pulled his fingerless gloves tighter as he walked down Collins Street. The Melbourne morning buzzed with trams clanging and coffee aromas drifting from every corner cafe.
"Did you see the new salon that opened?" Vic pushed his glasses up his nose, blue hair catching the sunlight.
"Another one?" Nat covered his vitiligo patches with his sleeve. "Why do people obsess over hair?"
Adam shrugged, strawberry blonde hair messy as usual. "Who cares?"
Felix's stomach twisted. "Please tell me it's not another place with those... things."
"What things?" Mason asked, walking beside his twin Nathan.
"Clippers," Felix whispered the word like it was cursed. "Those horrible buzzing torture machines."
The boys of The Buzz Kills all nodded grimly. They'd formed their band partly because of their shared terror of hair clippers.
"I heard this new stylist is different though," Vic said hesitantly. "She's got pink hair and loves Sanrio. The Gyaru girls are obsessed with her already."
Felix shuddered. Different or not, if she had clippers, she was dangerous.
The Pink Storm
Twenty minutes later, the boys rounded the corner onto Bourke Street. Felix stopped dead in his tracks.
A bright pink storefront gleamed like a candy shop. Heart-shaped windows displayed rainbow wigs and glittery accessories. Above the door, cursive letters spelled "Miss Lolly's Hair Haven" in sparkly pink paint.
"Oh no," Felix whispered.
Through the window, they could see her. Miss Lolly had cotton candy pink hair piled high in space buns. Her outfit was covered in Hello Kitty patches. Pink makeup made her look like a living doll.
"She's... actually pretty cool," Vic said, pushing his glasses up.
"Are you crazy?" Felix grabbed Vic's arm. "Look at her counter!"
Silver clippers sat in neat rows, gleaming under the salon lights like tiny metal monsters.
"Those things could buzz off your whole head in seconds," Nathan shuddered.
Just then, Miss Lolly looked up and waved at them through the window. Her smile was as bright as her hair.
"Run," Felix gasped.
But his feet wouldn't move. Something about her cheerful wave made him curious despite his terror.
