Morning Signals

Captain Sketch adjusted his silver goggles and gazed out from the tallest pencil tower of Sketch Fortress. The morning sun painted Creative City in brilliant colors below. Humanoid deer walked alongside humans on the busy streets, while living paintbrushes swept the sidewalks clean.

"Captain!" called Luna, one of the four deer who shared the fortress with him. Her antlers gleamed as she bounded up the spiral staircase. "The communication array is picking up strange signals from space!"

Sketch's bright green eyes widened. He had never received messages from beyond Earth before. His telekinesis powers tingled with curiosity as he followed Luna down to the fortress's control room.

Zara, Luna's partner, stood at the main console with her hooves dancing across holographic controls. "These aren't random signals," she said, her voice tense. "They're coordinated. Almost like... transmissions between ships."

The other two deer, Maya and River, exchanged worried glances. Something was coming to Creative City, and it wasn't friendly.

Purple Shadows

Sketch's fingers flew across the holographic display as emergency alerts flashed red throughout the control room. "Every museum and gallery in Creative City just went dark," he said, his voice tight with concern.

Maya, the deer with copper-colored fur, bounded to another console. "The signals stopped transmitting five minutes ago."

"That's when the power went out," River added, her white-spotted coat gleaming under the fortress's backup lights.

Suddenly, a massive shadow fell across the city below. Through the tower's windows, Sketch watched enormous ships descend like metal storm clouds. Strange purple beams shot down from their hulls, scanning the streets.

"They're not just visiting," Zara whispered, her brown eyes wide with alarm.

One beam swept across the Art Museum's roof. When it lifted, the building's famous sculpture garden had vanished completely. The bronze statues, the painted murals on the outer walls—everything artistic had disappeared.

"They're stealing our art!" Luna gasped.

More beams struck the galleries downtown. Paintings, sculptures, even the colorful street murals painted by the living brushes—all of it vanished into the alien ships' cargo holds.

Sketch's silver goggles reflected the purple light as his jaw tightened with determination.
