Blue Windows at Noon
The black dome of Crayon Armadillo Fortress made noon look like early evening. Blue windows shone like ice cubes, and the four crayon solar towers outside hummed softly.
Super Crayon Armadillo landed by the front steps, her red cape fluttering against her black-and-blue suit.
Inside, a sculpture show filled the hall with clay animals and folded-metal trees. A woman in a blue blazer hurried over.
“Juniper Vale,” she said, flashing her badge. “Please… keep this quiet. The comments online are already calling us frauds.”
Super Crayon Armadillo tapped her blue mask. “People comment. That does not make it true.”
A boy in a yellow hoodie leaned close to a clay armadillo.
“Hey,” Milo whispered. “Under the belly. It says ‘J.V.’”
Juniper’s jaw tightened. “I did not sign that.”
Super Crayon Armadillo crouched, peering under the base with xray vision. A thin strip of clear tape clung to the underside, and a fresh smear streaked the stand as if someone had just lifted it
Wet Footprints, Dry Faces
Super Crayon Armadillo slid her fingers under the clear tape and lifted.
The clay armadillo rose with a soft pop.
Juniper’s eyes went sharp.
Milo’s sneakers squeaked as he leaned in.
A thin printed label strip stuck to the tape, like it had been ripped from a shipping box. The letters were tiny.
Juniper grabbed it fast. “So you brought this in,” she snapped at Milo.
Milo’s face went hot. “No! I just— I just looked.”
He spun and ran.
“Juniper, do not—” Super Crayon Armadillo started.
Juniper’s mouth was already tight.
Outside the fortress doors, a shoemaker at a little repair cart looked up from lacing a boot. The woman’s short hair stuck out like a broom.
“Kid’s fast,” she said.
Super Crayon Armadillo blinked and teleported to the plaza.
Milo skidded by a puddle from a leaky fountain.
He held up his phone with shaking hands. “Look. Someone posted this.”
On the screen, the show’s biggest sculpture sat in Art Gallery Forest—perfect—under the tag: JuniperVale.
