The Evening Curtsey

Ms. Doodle Cat adjusted her dark blue dress and checked the crayon towers of her castle one last time. The pencil drawbridge creaked softly in the evening breeze as purple clouds gathered over Caprine Feline Metropolis.

"Time for bed, my dear sheep!" she called up the marker staircase.

Seven fluffy white sheep padded down in their nightgowns, yawning and rubbing their eyes. Buttercup's woolly ears drooped with tiredness, while Clover kept stumbling over her own hooves.

Ms. Doodle Cat smiled warmly and gave her traditional evening curtsey. As always, the sheep giggled and dropped their dresses, following her toward the walk-in shower.

But as they settled into their cozy beds later, something felt different. Instead of peaceful snores, she heard whispers and nervous shuffling.

"What's wrong, Daisy?" Ms. Doodle Cat asked, noticing the sheep's worried expression.

"We... we don't want to sleep," Buttercup admitted quietly.

The other sheep nodded, their eyes wide with an unnamed fear that made Ms. Doodle Cat's whiskers twitch with concern.

The Dream Baker's Warning

Ms. Doodle Cat sat on Buttercup's bed, her blue mask catching the moonlight streaming through the pencil windowpanes.

"Tell me what's frightening you," she said gently.

Clover, the white sheep with the stumbling hooves, whispered first. "We're scared of flying in our dreams."

"Flying dreams?" Ms. Doodle Cat's whiskers twitched with confusion.

Daisy nodded, her woolly ears trembling. "Every time we fall asleep, we start floating up in the air. Then we fall and fall until we wake up screaming."

"It's horrible!" Buttercup added, pulling her nightgown tighter around her fluffy body.

Suddenly, the castle's crayon doorbell chimed. Ms. Doodle Cat flew down the marker stairs and opened the door to find a plump goat wearing a flour-dusted apron.

"I'm Mr. Crumb, the dream baker from downtown," he panted. "I heard about your sheep. The flying dreams are spreading through the whole city! Cats and goats are having them too."

Ms. Doodle Cat's eyes widened. "This is bigger than I thought."

Mr. Crumb nodded gravely. "Someone needs to teach everyone how to fly safely in dreams before the whole metropolis stops sleeping forever."
