The Big Red Button Disaster

The Glowing Discovery
Chihiro sat cross-legged on her bedroom floor, surrounded by colored pencils and half-finished drawings. The house felt unusually quiet with her parents downstairs watching television.
She wandered into the hallway, her sneakers squeaking softly on the wooden floor. A strange humming sound came from her father's study. The door stood slightly open.
Chihiro peeked inside. On his desk sat a peculiar metal box she'd never seen before. It had blinking lights along its sides and a large, bright red button right in the center. A small label read "DO NOT TOUCH" in her father's neat handwriting.
The button seemed to glow, almost calling to her. Chihiro stepped closer, her heart beating faster. What could it possibly do?
The Flash of Light
Chihiro's finger trembled above the bright red button. Her father's warning label stared back at her, but curiosity won.
She pressed it.
A deep rumble shook the house. Through the study window, she watched a brilliant flash light up the distant city skyline. New York's towering buildings crumbled like sandcastles as a massive explosion bloomed across the horizon.
"What was that noise?" her mother's voice called from downstairs.
Chihiro's heart hammered. The metal box now displayed flashing red letters: "NUCLEAR DEVICE ACTIVATED - NYC TARGET ELIMINATED."
Footsteps rushed up the stairs. Her mother appeared in the doorway, face pale with shock as she stared at the destruction visible through the window.
"Chihiro! How dare you nuke New York City! Do you know how much it costs to fix that city? You're grounded for one zillion years! Go to your room now!"
