Morning Preparations

Super Marker Tiger stretched his powerful arms as the first rays of sunlight filtered through the curved windows of SMT Fortress. The tiger-striped walls gleamed silver in the morning light, and all four marker towers stood tall against the sky.

"Another beautiful day in Big Cat Metropolis," he said to himself, adjusting his blue sunglass goggles.

He walked to his gear room and reached for his most trusted tool. The giant blue marker materialized in his orange and black striped hand, glowing softly. Tomorrow would be the annual Big Cat Metropolis Art Festival, and he planned to create the most spectacular mural the city had ever seen.

Super Marker Tiger pressed the marker's tip against a practice wall. Instead of the usual bright blue stream, only a faint, sputtering line appeared.

"That's... strange," he muttered, shaking the marker gently.

He tried again. This time, nothing came out at all. The marker's glow flickered weakly before dimming completely.

The Color That Defines

Super Marker Tiger stared at his lifeless marker, panic creeping into his chest. The Art Festival was tomorrow, and half the city was counting on his mural.

"Maybe I just need to check the marker storage," he muttered, flying quickly to the basement of SMT Fortress.

The underground room held dozens of backup markers in glass cases. Super Marker Tiger grabbed a bright red one and pressed it against the wall. Perfect crimson lines flowed smoothly.

He tried a green marker next. It worked perfectly too.

"So it's just the blue one," he said, relief washing over him. Then his stomach dropped. "But blue is my signature color!"

His phone buzzed with a text from Mayor Whiskers: "SMT! The festival banners are all blue this year to match your famous marker. Can't wait to see your blue masterpiece tomorrow!"

Super Marker Tiger slumped against the wall. Every other marker worked fine, but the one color that defined him as a hero had failed. The festival committee had planned everything around his blue artwork.

Without his blue marker, he wasn't really Super Marker Tiger at all.
