The Morning Patrol
Super Paintbrush Doe stretched her arms as the first rays of sunlight hit the Paintbrush Fortress towers. The blue and black fabric of her supersuit glinted in the morning light as she stepped onto the observation deck.
"Another beautiful day in Art Gallery Forest," she said, adjusting her red cape. Her giant magic blue paintbrush materialized in her hand with a soft shimmer.
Below, the forest sparkled with vibrant colors. Rainbow leaves danced on emerald trees, while crystal-blue streams wound between houses painted in every shade imaginable. Citizens strolled the colorful paths—some human, others deer-like creatures similar to herself.
She noticed Mrs. Maple, an elderly human artist, setting up her easel by the Purple Pond. The woman's gray hair was pulled back in a neat bun as she dipped her brush into bright yellow paint.
"Perfect morning for painting," Doe called down, using her flight power to glide closer.
Mrs. Maple looked up and frowned. "Actually, dear, something strange happened yesterday. My red paint just... stopped working."
The Fading Festival
Super Paintbrush Doe landed gently beside Mrs. Maple's easel. "What do you mean your red paint stopped working?"
Mrs. Maple dipped her brush into the crimson blob on her palette. When she touched it to the canvas, only clear water appeared. "See? It's like the color just vanished."
Doe's big expressive eyes widened behind her purple mask. She summoned her giant magic blue paintbrush and tested her own paint blast power. A stream of brilliant blue shot out perfectly.
"That's so strange," Doe said, her small antlers catching the sunlight.
Suddenly, a shrill whistle echoed through the forest. Both turned to see Melody Sparrow, a tiny brown bird with bright yellow feet, zipping between the trees in panicked circles.
"Help! Help!" Melody chirped frantically. "The Music Festival colors are disappearing! All the instruments are turning gray!"
Doe's light-brown fur bristled with concern. Through the trees, she could see the festival grounds where hundreds of citizens had gathered for the morning concert. Colorful banners were fading to dull gray before their eyes.
"This is bigger than just paint," Doe realized, her red cape fluttering as she prepared to take flight.
