Morning Preparations

Creative Crayon Sow stood in her bedroom, adjusting the light-blue cape that fluttered behind her blue-and-black supersuit. She gazed at her reflection in the mirror, touching the light-blue eyeliner that highlighted her bright eyes.

"Today's the day," she whispered to herself, summoning her giant light-blue crayon. The glowing tool appeared in her hand with a soft shimmer.

Through her window, Canvas Ranch City bustled with activity. Humanoid boars hurried down the streets carrying art supplies. A family of deer chatted excitedly near the fountain. Even the sheep looked more animated than usual.

Creative Crayon Sow walked to her kitchen table where a bright yellow flyer lay open. "ANNUAL CANVAS RANCH PAINTING CONTEST" read the bold letters. "Grand Prize: Golden Paintbrush Trophy."

She picked up the flyer, her heart racing with excitement. This contest happened only once a year, and she had been preparing for months.

"I'm finally ready," she said, tucking the flyer into her cape pocket.

The Vanishing Palette

Creative Crayon Sow stepped outside the Creative Crayon Pig Pen and gasped. The main square of Canvas Ranch City looked wrong. Very wrong.

Where colorful banners had hung yesterday, only gray fabric fluttered in the breeze. The bright red booth where contestants would register sat there like a sad shadow of itself. Even the yellow contest flyers scattered on the ground had turned completely white.

"What happened to all the colors?" she whispered, touching her light-blue eyeliner to make sure it was still there. It was.

A small hummingbird zipped past her ear, its feathers a brilliant emerald green. "Thank goodness you're here!" the bird chirped in a tiny voice. "I'm Zip, and someone's been stealing colors all night!"

Creative Crayon Sow summoned her giant light-blue crayon. The glowing tool appeared, still perfectly bright against the gray world around them.

"The contest starts in two hours," Zip continued, hovering frantically. "Every paintbrush, every canvas, every drop of paint has lost its color. If we don't fix this soon, there won't be any contest at all!"

Creative Crayon Sow looked around at the colorless city. Her cape fluttered behind her as determination filled her heart.
