Morning Patrol
Crayon Marker Tigress stretched her orange and black striped arms as the morning sun glinted off her blue-and-black supersuit. From the observation deck of Crayon Marker Tower, she could see all of Craft Room Jungle City spread below. The half-crayon, half-marker building swayed gently in the breeze.
"Another peaceful day," she said, adjusting her red cape.
Her golden eyes scanned the streets where humanoid tigers, deer, and humans walked to work. The flower shops were opening, and the morning coffee scents drifted up forty floors.
She reached for her giant crayon, feeling its familiar weight. The marker hung at her other hip, both tools ready for any creative emergency. Art crimes were rare, but she stayed prepared.
A distant rumble echoed from the supply district.
"That's odd," she murmured, stepping closer to the tower's edge.
The rumbling grew louder. Something metallic crashed in the distance. Her enhanced hearing caught what sounded like... arguing?
She gripped the tower railing, her super senses focusing on the strange commotion.
The Runaway Tools
Crayon Marker Tigress leaped from the tower's observation deck, her red cape billowing behind her. She soared over the morning traffic, following the strange sounds toward the supply district.
Landing on a rooftop, she peered down at Marker Street. Her golden eyes widened. A giant crayon—nearly identical to her own but three times larger—rolled back and forth across the pavement. Red wax scattered everywhere as it bumped into lampposts and benches.
"Hey! You're making a mess!" shouted a voice from the opposite end of the street.
A massive marker, even bigger than the rogue crayon, bounced angrily toward it. Blue ink spurted from its tip with each hop, creating puddles across the sidewalk.
"You started it!" the crayon rumbled back, its voice deep and scratchy. "Drawing all those perfect lines while I make happy scribbles!"
"Perfect lines are better than your wobbly nonsense!" the marker shot back.
The two art supplies crashed into each other with a tremendous CLANG. More wax and ink flew everywhere, coating nearby buildings in colorful chaos.
Crayon Marker Tigress gripped the roof edge. Her own art supplies were fighting each other? But how were they moving and talking on their own?
