The Morning Routine

Ms Artwork Bear stretched her powerful arms as sunlight streamed through the crystal windows of her castle. The morning air smelled like fresh paint and new paper. She walked through her favorite room, the Supply Hall, where thousands of crayons lined the walls in perfect rainbow order.

"Good morning, my colorful friends," she said, running her furry paw along a row of bright red crayons.

Her big expressive eyes noticed something odd. Three empty spaces where crayons should be. She frowned, adjusting her teal mask.

"That's strange. I know I had a full set yesterday."

She flew to another wall using her super speed. More gaps. Yellow crayons missing. Then blue ones too.

"Maybe I used more than I thought during yesterday's art lesson with the children," she mumbled, but doubt crept into her voice.

Her telepathy powers picked up no thoughts from anyone nearby. The castle felt unusually quiet for a Tuesday morning in Canvas Zoo City.

Storage Secrets

Ms Artwork Bear decided to check the basement storage rooms. She flew down the spiral staircase, her teal cape flowing behind her. The lower levels of her castle held backup art supplies for emergencies.

"Maybe I moved some crayons down here and forgot," she said to herself.

She pushed open the heavy door to Storage Room C. Empty shelves stared back at her. Not a single crayon anywhere.

Her super speed carried her to Storage Room D, then E. All empty. Her heart started beating faster.

"This can't be right," she whispered.

Using her telekinesis, she lifted boxes and checked behind furniture. Nothing. Her x-ray vision scanned the walls for hidden compartments. Still nothing.

A strange humming sound drifted from outside the castle. Ms Artwork Bear flew to the basement window and peered out. A small hummingbird with bright green feathers hovered near the castle's foundation. The tiny bird held something red in its beak.

"Wait a minute," she said, squinting. "Is that my missing red crayon?"

The hummingbird spotted her watching and zipped away toward Canvas Zoo City's downtown area.
