Morning Preparations
Super Crayon Doe stretched her arms wide as sunlight filtered through the colorful windows of her Crayon Thicket fortress. Her blue mask sat perfectly on her face, and her red cape hung neatly over her chair.
"Today's the day!" she announced to her reflection in the polished crayon wall. The Cervine Metropolis Art Competition had finally arrived.
She picked up her giant magic crayon, feeling its familiar weight and gentle glow. For weeks, she'd practiced her art skills, determined to create the most perfect painting anyone had ever seen. No messy lines. No accidental smudges. Just pure, controlled perfection.
Her phone buzzed with a text from Mayor Antler announcing the competition rules. Super Crayon Doe read each word carefully, memorizing every detail. Winners would be judged on creativity, technique, and originality.
"Perfect," she whispered, polishing her crayon until it sparkled. "I'll show everyone what real artistic control looks like."
She stepped outside her fortress, ready to make art history.
The Invisible Mishap
Super Crayon Doe flew through the crisp morning air toward Cervine Metropolis Art Center. Her red cape fluttered behind her as she landed gracefully in the courtyard.
"Welcome, artists!" called Mayor Antler, a tall elk with impressive antlers who wore a formal navy suit. "Today's theme is 'Magic in Motion!' You have two hours to create your masterpiece."
Super Crayon Doe found her assigned easel next to a young human girl with curly brown hair and paint-stained overalls. The girl looked about ten years old with bright green eyes and freckles across her nose.
"Hi! I'm Lily," the girl said cheerfully. "I'm a baker's daughter, but I love painting on weekends."
"I'm Super Crayon Doe," she replied, raising her giant magic crayon confidently.
As soon as she touched crayon to canvas, something went horribly wrong. Instead of the controlled purple line she intended, her crayon shot out a wild burst of invisible paint that splattered everywhere.
"Oh no!" Super Crayon Doe gasped, watching contestants slip and slide on the unseen mess coating the ground.
Lily giggled as she accidentally stepped through what must have been invisible purple puddles.
