Morning Rounds

Super Crayon Doe stretched her arms as sunlight streamed through the crystal windows of her castle bedroom. The light caught her blue mask sitting on the nightstand, making it sparkle like sapphires.

"Another beautiful day in Art Gallery Wood," she said, pulling on her sleek blue supersuit and flowing red cape.

She floated down the spiral staircase, her hooves barely touching the stone steps. The castle's main hall gleamed with morning light bouncing off the crystal walls. Through the tall windows, she could see the four crayon towers standing proud against the sky.

Her stomach rumbled. "Breakfast first, then tower inspection."

The kitchen smelled like fresh pancakes. Cook had left a stack on the counter with a note: "Gone to market. Back soon!"

As she ate, Super Crayon Doe noticed something odd. The view from the kitchen window showed the east crayon tower, and its usual steady glow seemed brighter today. Much brighter.

She wiped syrup from her muzzle and frowned. "That's definitely not normal."

The Baker's Morning Surprise

Super Crayon Doe pushed back from the breakfast table and walked to the kitchen window. The east tower's glow pulsed like a heartbeat, casting strange shadows across the courtyard.

"I should check that out," she said, but before she could move, a loud crash echoed from outside.

She pressed her face to the glass. In the castle's garden, a delivery truck sat sideways against a fountain. Steam poured from its hood. The driver, a middle-aged baker in a flour-dusted apron, stood beside it looking confused.

But that wasn't the strangest part.

All around the truck, painted flowers were blooming into real ones. The delivery boxes had spilled open, revealing loaves of bread that were growing like plants right out of their wrappers.

"Oh no," Super Crayon Doe whispered. "The tower's magic is affecting things outside the castle."

She rushed to the garden. The baker turned toward her, his brown eyes wide with amazement.

"Miss, I was just delivering bread to the market," he said, pointing at his magical loaves. "Then this happened. What's going on?"

The east tower pulsed brighter, and more painted garden decorations began transforming into living plants.
