Whispers of Camelot

“Merlin!” called Arthur, looking out from the grand stone walls of Camelot. The fortress shimmered in the early morning light, its towers casting long shadows across the sprawling courtyard below.

“Yes, Arthur?” Merlin replied, strolling over in his simple brown tunic. His eyes, often filled with mischief, were today soft with anticipation.

“The delegation from Lindon is arriving shortly. We must ensure their welcome is... memorable.” Arthur glanced at Merlin, already knowing the wizard always had ideas beyond conventional receptions.

“I have just the thing,” Merlin grinned, nodding decisively.

They both crossed the courtyard, Arthur’s armor clinking, juxtaposed by Merlin’s leather boots silent against the cobblestone.

Hustle and bustle filled the yard with squires running errands and traders setting up stalls, but Merlin's mind wandered to the skies above, where tales of a dragon's dual flame began to spark his curiosity.

Hidden Dangers

Merlin and Arthur strolled through the lush forests bordering Camelot, their conversation light as morning sunshine. The trees whispered softly around them, but Merlin's attention was drawn skyward as a glint of gold caught his eye.

"Do you see that?" Merlin nodded towards the clearing ahead.

Arthur followed his gaze and halted, eyes widening in awe. "A dragon," he breathed, captivated by its grandeur.

The creature before them was magnificent—golden scales shimmering like forged gold in the dappling sunlight, wings tucked gracefully at its sides.

"I've never seen one like this," Merlin murmured, a mix of caution and curiosity.

The dragon, sensing their presence, raised its head, regarding them with an ancient, knowing look. For a moment, it seemed at peace, glowing in harmony with the world.

But, without warning, its shadow twisted wildly, forming a stark, menacing reflection of darkness beside it. Merlin and Arthur watched in stunned silence, realizing this creature possessed a troubling duality.
