The Grand Feast

Riley stretched her arms wide as she walked through the marble entrance of her new villa. At thirty years old, she had finally moved out of her family's estate and into her own magnificent home.

"Freedom at last!" she called out to the empty halls, her voice echoing off the crystal chandeliers.

The villa sparkled around her with polished floors and silk curtains that caught the afternoon sunlight. She pulled out her phone and scrolled through food delivery apps with growing excitement.

"If I'm celebrating my independence, I'm doing it right," she said, adding item after item to her cart. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, pumpkin pie, and sweet potato casserole.

Her finger hovered over the order button. The total made her eyes widen, but she shrugged.

"I can afford it now," she grinned, hitting confirm.

Within hours, delivery trucks arrived with enough food for twenty people. Riley set everything out on her dining table and sat down alone, ready to feast like a queen.

Morning Discoveries

Riley's eyes fluttered open as sunlight streamed through her silk curtains. She stretched and immediately felt something strange. Her stomach felt enormous.

She sat up in bed and gasped. Her belly had expanded overnight into a huge, round dome that pushed against her silk pajamas.

"What in the world?" she whispered, running her hands over the massive bump.

Riley stumbled to her full-length mirror and stared in shock. She looked like she was carrying triplets, maybe even quadruplets!

Her heart raced as she grabbed her phone with shaking fingers. She scrolled through her contacts until she found Dr. Martinez, her family's private physician.

"Dr. Martinez? This is Riley Thompson. I need you to come to my villa immediately. It's an emergency!"

"What's wrong, Riley?" came the calm voice.

"I'm pregnant! Very pregnant! I wasn't yesterday, but this morning I look like I'm about to have multiple babies!"

There was a pause. "I'll be right over."

Riley paced around her bedroom, one hand supporting her enormous belly. How could this have happened so fast?
