Morning at the Tower

Crayon Zebra Doe stretched her arms as she stepped out onto the observation deck of CZD Tower. The morning sun painted golden stripes across Savannah Forest City below. Humans, zebra-striped giraffes, and fox-eared citizens were already bustling through the tree-lined streets.

"Perfect day for patrolling," she said, adjusting her blue mask.

Her giant blue crayon hummed softly in her gloved hand. She was about to take flight when a loud CRASH echoed from the market district. Smoke billowed up from between two shops—Sweet Dreams Bakery and Perfect Pastries.

"Oh no," she muttered, recognizing the angry voices drifting upward.

"Your terrible frosting ruined everything!" shouted a woman.

"My frosting? Your soggy cake base is the problem!" a man yelled back.

Crayon Zebra Doe sighed. Baker Betty and Chef Carlos were at it again. Their rivalry had been getting worse each week, and now something had clearly gone wrong. She gripped her crayon tighter and leaped from the tower, blue energy trails streaming behind her as she soared toward the chaos below.

The Purple Storm

Crayon Zebra Doe landed hard on the cobblestone street between the two bakeries. Thick purple frosting dripped from the windows of Sweet Dreams Bakery, while chunks of chocolate cake scattered across the sidewalk from Perfect Pastries.

"What happened here?" she called out.

A woman with flour-dusted apron and short curly hair rushed outside. "Oh, Crayon Zebra Doe! I'm Baker Betty. That stubborn Chef Carlos ruined our magical baking competition!"

A tall man with a chef's hat emerged from the opposite shop. "My fault? Your enchanted mixer went crazy and flung frosting everywhere!"

Betty pointed at a giant mixing bowl that was still spinning wildly in her shop window. "Your chocolate cake exploded first!"

"Ladies and gentlemen!" A small hummingbird with iridescent green feathers zipped between them, speaking in a tiny but clear voice. "I'm Melody, the competition judge. The magic got mixed up when they both cast baking spells at the same time!"

Suddenly, the ground trembled. The spilled frosting and cake pieces began swirling together, growing larger and taking shape.

"Oh no," Melody squeaked. "It's forming a cake monster!"
