Morning Patrol

Chris soared through the morning sky above Canvas Metropolis, his red cape streaming behind him as he surveyed the colorful city below. The giant glowing blue crayon in his hand pulsed with gentle energy, ready for whatever the day might bring.

"Another peaceful morning," he said to himself, adjusting his blue sunglass goggles. The futuristic buildings sparkled like rainbow prisms in the sunlight.

His communicator buzzed. "Chris! Emergency at the art district!" Mayor Palette's voice crackled through. "Luna Woolsworth is missing!"

Chris's heart skipped. Luna was the shyest resident of Canvas Metropolis, a gentle humanoid lamb who rarely spoke to anyone. She worked quietly at the children's art center, always in the background.

"When did anyone last see her?" Chris asked, already changing direction.

"Yesterday evening. Her roommate says she never came home from work."

Chris frowned. Luna lived such a predictable routine. Something was definitely wrong. He gripped his crayon tighter and flew faster toward the art district, worry building in his chest.

The Empty Art Center

Chris landed outside the Canvas Children's Art Center and pushed open the bright yellow door. The building buzzed with activity as young artists painted at easels and sculpted with clay.

"Excuse me," Chris called to a nearby teacher. "I'm looking for information about Luna Woolsworth."

A cheerful elderly woman with silver curls and paint-splattered apron hurried over. "Oh my! You're Super Crayon Chris! I'm Mrs. Brushworth, the center director."

"When did you last see Luna?" Chris asked, scanning the room.

Mrs. Brushworth frowned. "Yesterday evening. She was working late in her special classroom upstairs. She always stays after everyone leaves to prepare art supplies for tomorrow."

"Can you show me?"

They climbed the narrow stairs to Luna's workspace. The room sat completely empty except for scattered art supplies on the floor. Chris knelt down and picked up a torn piece of paper with strange scribbles.

"That's odd," Mrs. Brushworth said. "Luna never leaves messes behind. She's very organized."

Chris studied the paper more closely. The scribbles looked like they might be some kind of message, but he couldn't make sense of them.
