The Shimmering Discovery

India stepped through the icicle forest, her golden gown catching sparkles from the twin suns above. Her daughters Martina, Gaia, and Sofia followed close behind, their breath making little white clouds in the cold air.

"Look, Mother!" Sofia pointed ahead.

Through the crystal trees stood something impossible - a palace made entirely of ice, but glowing with warm light from within. Its towers twisted up toward the rainbow sky like frozen music.

"How beautiful," whispered Gaia.

India felt her heart skip. The palace seemed to call to her, its walls pulsing with a strange, welcoming rhythm. She had never seen anything so magnificent in all her travels across Tyke Tundra.

"Should we go inside?" asked Martina eagerly.

India pushed open the palace doors. Cool air rushed out, making her daughters gasp.

"It's warm inside!" Sofia said, surprised.

They stepped into a grand hall with ice walls that glowed like sunset. A sparrow with bright blue feathers sat on a frozen chandelier above them.

"Welcome," the sparrow chirped. "I'm Melody. This palace has been waiting for you."

Martina clapped her hands. "A talking bird!"

But Gaia frowned. "Mother, look at the floor."

India looked down. The ice beneath their feet showed people dancing, but they couldn't stop. Their faces looked tired and sad, spinning endlessly in the frozen floor.

"What happened to them?" India whispered.
